22 Mar 1991 --- The constellation Canis Major (Great Dog). The main star seen here is Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. Sirius is a white visual binary star having a white dwarf companion (not visible here). One of the nearest stars to Earth, Sirius is 8.6 light years away.
